              报告简介:

              Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) has emerged as an excellent molecular building block for creating nano-sized objects. Its unique features, such as having predictable spatial arrangements and programmable Watson-Crick base pairing interactions, facilitate the information-directed self-assembly of precisely defined nanostructures and nano-devices. My work primarily focuses on the fundamental design, creation of new functionalities, and applications of highly programmable nucleic acid nanostructures. My talk will focus on the creation of novel structural design rules for DNA nano-architectures that have complex topologies, such as free-form 2D and 3D DNA drawings. I will also discuss the mechanism by which the single-stranded folding of nucleic acids occur, as well as the modular assembly of DNA tessellations and crystals. Furthermore, I will describe the strategies I use to reconfigure DNA nano-devices in a programmable way and interface DNA with other functional materials so they acquire new properties. The ability to manipulate DNA at a nanoscale level with a high amount of precision will result in a wide variety of applications for use in structural biology, biocatalysis, biomolecule sensing, DNA computing, and biomedical nano-robots.
